We can give students the tools they need to succeed in college.

I have long been a supporter of educational access and providing opportunities for young people to pursue educational goals. I have supported tuition programs and other programs that prepare students for college. However, the challenges for students don’t stop once they reach college. Food and housing insecurity add to the challenge of financing a college education. So many students have overcome adversity to finally make it to SDSU but continue to struggle with basic living needs.
Wesley House seeks to address these challenges by providing low-income housing to SDSU students. They operate a food pantry open to all students that currently serves over 80 students per day . In 2004, the pantry distributed over 200,000 lbs of food. Wesley House also has a housing navigation and rental assistance program to address housing challenges that students face. It also conducts a mentorship program and hosts events focusing on living skills.
Join me in supporting real change. Let’s support good in the world and make a difference. Help us break the cycle of poverty by creating access to higher education for all.
